Abra Greenspan has worked in Jewish education for over 30 years, including 12 years as Director of Youth Education at Congregation Emanu-El in San Francisco and teaching positions at various congregations in California and Japan. She is currently the Director of Learning at Congregation Etz Chayim in Palo Alto. Abra has also worked in informal and alternative Jewish Education at summer camps, the Hillel Foundation at Stanford University and Lehrhaus Judaica based in Berkeley, California. Abra has also taught English as a Foreign Language to students abroad and in the United States and spent 12 years as a consultant in cross-cultural communications through her company LINCS Pacific. Abra believes that creating relationships and connections as a community are at the heart of Jewish (well, really all) life and Jewish learning. She is married to Kiyotaka Hayashi and they have two adult sons. Abra and Kiyo live in San Francisco where they enjoy long walks, good food, music, books and movies.
